Delta Squad is back and better than ever in Gears of War: Reloaded launching August 26, 2025. Get the chance to play it first during our back-to-back Multiplayer Beta weekends starting this Friday. Read below to learn all you need to know to lock in.

No, access to the Gears of War: Reloaded Multiplayer Beta will not be restricted to any specific platforms. You will be able to play the Multiplayer Beta on all platforms the full game will be released on, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam – including SteamOS and Steam Deck

• Weekend 1 runs from Friday, June 13 at 7pm UTC (12pmPST) to Sunday, June 15 at 7pm UTC (12pm PST)  
• Weekend 2 runs from Friday, June 20 at 7pm UTC (12pmPST) to Sunday, June 22 at 7pm UTC (12pm PST) 

Access to the Multiplayer Beta is automatic and available to pre-install across all platforms now. There are no codes to input for access. There is also no early access to the beta. 

Gain access to the beta through one of these three ways: 

• Pre-order Gears of War: Reloaded digitally for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Steam or PlayStation®5 

• Have an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership 

• Own a digital copy of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition* 

* Must have purchased Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (digital-only) prior to May 5, 2025 at 16:00 UTC. 

Weekend 1 includes the social multiplayer experience of Team Deathmatch across three maps including Gridlock, Raven Down and Gold Rush. 

Weekend 2 includes everything from Weekend 1 while expanding the map selection for Team Deathmatch to Courtyard and War Machine. It also adds competitive King of the Hill on Canals to the mix. 

The goal of both beta weekends is to test and evaluate online multiplayer systems, cross platform play, and game stability. Should you encounter an issue with accessing / launching the beta, connecting to matches or are experiencing frequent crashes, please visit support.gearsofwar.com and submit a support request via Xbox, Steam or PlayStation®5 support. 

To help us focus on addressing any critical issues prior to launch, please avoid submitting support tickets on matters related to multiplayer tuning or bugs that were present in the original game or Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.  

Those that preorder Gears of War: Reloaded, digitally or physically, and Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass PC members will receive two character skins for use in multiplayer, including:    

• Adam Fenix: Father of Marcus Fenix and legendary military scientist who invented the Hammer of Dawn. Now he’s geared up and ready to help defend humanity from the Locust Horde.   

• Anya Stroud: The guiding voice of Delta Squad, from the desk at COG CIC to the warzones of Ephyra, Anya is trained and ready to curb stomp some grubs.   

These are included and unlocked in the game automatically if you have purchased the pre-order or own Game Pass. The skins will be available upon official game launch on August 26, 2025.

Yes. You can invite friends either through the platform menus or through the in-game menu. You can only invite off-platform players if they are linked to a Microsoft Account. 

Yes. You can enable or disable cross platform play through the Settings menu in-game.

You can link your Microsoft Account upon sign-in or from choosing the option at the bottom of the Main Menu for PlayStation®5 and Steam. Follow the QR code prompt to complete sign-in. 

Only to invite friends from other platforms or if you would like to enable cross-progression.   

Selecting a player’s profile will display a menu with a Reporting option or go to support.gearsofwar.com to find support options for the platform you’re playing on.

While gameplay utilizes controller input only, a keyboard can be used for text chat in multiplayer. 

Ultimate Edition owners will receive codes for Gears of War: Reloaded through the Xbox Message Center starting June 11, 2025. If you have not yet received your code by Friday, June 13, please reach out to Xbox Support. 

Once you’ve redeemed your code for Gears of War: Reloaded, the Multiplayer Beta should be automatically available to download.
