In Gears Tactics, it is important to recruit a roster of soldiers to take onto the battlefield. There are six possible classes in the game, each with their own set of subclasses and skills. Level up your squad by completing missions in the game, then use your skill points to tailor each soldier to fit your play style and needs in battle.

Support

The Support class is all about unlocking the power and potential of the entire squad through buffs and healing.

Subclasses

Surgeon

Surgeon skills are focused on single target healing. 

Paragon

Paragon skills are focused on granting power and actions to other units. 

Combat Medic

Combat Medic skills are focused on squad healing. 

Strategist

Strategist skills increase the offensive power of the Support and its Lancer.

Vanguard

The Vanguard class are fearless front-line fighters equipped to absorb more damage and draw aggression.

Subclasses

Warden

Warden skills are focused on building the Vanguard into a damage soak. 

Shock Trooper

Shock Trooper skills are focused on disrupting the enemy front lines. 

Paladin

Paladin skills are focused on protecting the entire squad. 

Assault

Assault skills are focused on increasing the offensive power of the Vanguard.

Heavy

Bringing massive firepower able to deal with groups of targets, the Heavy is also a powerhouse when using overwatch.

Subclasses

Specialist

Specialist skills are focused on maximizing Actions. 

Demolitionist

Demolitionist skills are focused on granting and improving explosive damage.

Artillery

Artillery skills are focused on increasing damage output. 

Defender

Defender skills are focused on improving Overwatch.

Jack

Jack is a semi-autonomous flying drone with enhanced combat assistance capabilities.

Subclasses

Utility

Utility skills increase the options and Actions of the rest of your squad.

Control

Control skills allow Jack to manipulate the battlefield and take control of enemies.

Front Line

Front Line skills let Jack survive closer engagement with the enemy and drop power weapons onto the battlefield.

Defensive

Defensive skills give Jack options for protecting the other units in your squad.

Scout

The Scout uses cloak and mobility to get up close and personal with their Gnasher.

Subclasses

Raider

Raider skills are focused on maximizing shots from the Scout. 

Recon

Recon skills are focused on improving mobility. 

Slayer

Slayer skills are focused on finishing enemy units. 

Commando

Commando skills add the Proximity Mine to the Scout’s arsenal.

Sniper

The Sniper is a deadly sharpshooter that is able to use precision shots to take out high threat targets from across the battlefield.

Subclasses

Marksman

Marksman skills are focused on critical hits.

Hunter

Hunter skills are focused on gaining Actions.

Assassin

Assassin skills are focused on increasing damage.

Stalker

Stalker skills are focused on area control.
